What they fund
Priority Areas
First Give uses its school programmes to inspire young people to support causes they care about in their local communities. In The First Give Programme, students learn about social issues, research local charities and choose one to represent; they take social action through fundraising, awareness-raising or volunteering. A panel at each school final selects a winning class, whose chosen charity receives a grant. In First Give One Day, First Give works with partner schools to identify causes and invites charities to participate, then students can direct programme funds to charities they choose. Its grants therefore go to local charities selected through school-based, youth-led activity, while the programmes develop young people’s skills and engagement with their communities.
