Our Story
Hinchilla was born from a simple observation: UK non-profits spend too much time writing grant applications and not enough time delivering their mission.
While grant writing is and will remain a skilled job requiring knowledge of the organisation you are working for, there are ways AI can help. We've seen the same failed efforts as everyone else, using ChatGPT and getting obviously AI generated content. Or getting vague generic content that doesn't address the funders' requirements.
We created Hinchilla to help non-profits leverage their own past successful applications and institutional knowledge to write better grant proposals in a fraction of the time. Our AI assistant doesn't just generate generic content—it learns from your organization's unique voice, past successes, and specific impact metrics.
But that's only ever a first draft. There will always be a need for a human to review and add value in areas where AI is not yet able to excel.
Today, we're starting to partner with non-profits across the UK, helping them secure more funding while reducing administrative burden so they can focus on what matters most: their mission.

We're a small team, we've been working together for years on other products and now we're trying to solve the pain in grant writing for non-profits. Robin heads up the Team and has worked at small software companies delivering safe and secure products to organisations such as the BBC, CNN, The UK Government Cabinet Office, and many more. Maciej is the brains behind the coding, buliding the platform and making sure it's secure and reliable. Silvia is the human face of the team handling customer support and ensuring a smooth experience for all our users.
