Application Process & Timeline

Applications are submitted through an online portal (GivingData). Different programs have different timelines:

  • Direct Action Visionary Grants: Letters of intent evaluated quarterly (deadlines: October 31, January 30, April 30, July 31, October 30). Up to $60,000 available.
  • Visionary Grants: Fixed deadline of April 1 annually. Up to $20,000 for pilot project expenses.
  • Direct Action Crisis Funding: Rolling basis with quarterly evaluation deadlines.
  • Other programs: Various deadlines throughout the year; most funding opportunities open for applications on November 1.

Grant recipients are typically announced approximately three to four months after a grant deadline. Applications are due at 11:59 p.m. Hawaii Time on the posted deadline date.
