Kensington & Chelsea Social Council
At a glance
Key takeaways
- Kensington & Chelsea Social Council's stated geographic focus is Greater London, with Queen's Park and Paddington named, and the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea as its priority, so organisations working in those places are the natural fit.
- Its funding reaches voluntary and community organisations through a community chest for grassroots groups and a collaborative fund for VCS organisations, and much of its offer is free advice, training and help with grant applications.
- Its annual report gives annual giving of £900, the register does not confirm that scale, and no grant range is stated, so size any request cautiously and do not assume a typical amount.
- No application process is published in the annual report, the register entry or its website, so get in touch through the contact shown before preparing a full application, and ask directly about timing, since nothing published covers it.
Overview
Kensington & Chelsea Social Council is a charity registered with the Charity Commission for England and Wales (charity number 1087457).
Kensington & Chelsea Social Council exists to strengthen and champion local communities and the voluntary and community sector. It is the result of a merger of the Chelsea and Notting Hill Social Councils. It supports voluntary and community organisations and social enterprises across Kensington and Chelsea, and it distributes payments to the sector: through Mattison’s Community Chest it funded eight grassroots groups, and the Community Solutions Fund distributed around £600,000 to VCS organisations.
