The Elevate Prize Foundation

• The Elevate Prize Foundation backs social impact leaders and community-based organisations across issue areas, with themes including relief of the poor, healthcare, affordable housing, education, arts, scientific research and environmental protection, and the filing states no geographic focus.
• Most of its grants are modest: half of its grants to organisations were $25,000 or less, and about 8 in 10 fall between $2,500 and $150,000, so a request in that range fits its usual pattern, although its largest grant was $350,000.
• Entry is by nomination, either in the public nomination period, which generally takes place in April–May and can shift from year to year, or through trusted partner networks; the foundation then invites a selected group to submit a full application, and a leader serving as Executive Director, CEO or an equivalent role may be nominated when they are the primary driver of the organisation's vision and impact.
• Organisations that are not legally recognised charitable entities in their country are excluded from the Elevate Prize, and for the GET LOUD Award, organisations that are not 501(c)(3)s, fiscally sponsored, or public charities with annual revenue under $1M USD are excluded.
• Returning grantees are common, as 34% of its grant dollars to organisations went to organisations it had also funded in earlier filings, and applications receive in-depth review from internal and external experts, including Elevate Prize alumni.
