• Connor Foundation gives priority to Northeast Ohio but also considers other groups doing excellent work, though only in health and wellness, nature preservation, education or the arts, and applicants must be tax-exempt or operate under a tax-exempt fiscal sponsor.
• A request around $10,000 is realistic, since that is the median grant, half of its grants are $10,000 or less, and about 8 in 10 grants fall between $2,500 and $100,000.
• Applications can take any format and be emailed to info@connorfoundation.org, and the foundation runs two cycles a year with fixed deadlines, so plan the submission around one of them.
• Most of its grant dollars go to repeat grantees (99% in the latest filing went to organisations it had also funded in the two earlier filings), so new applicants are welcome but should expect a relationship-led process.
• Organisations outside those four areas, or without tax-exempt status or a fiscal sponsor, should not apply.
