Funding Priorities

The foundation funds organisations and individuals who demonstrate they can use funds to promote Ayn Rand and advance her philosophy, Objectivism, intelligently and effectively. Three main programmes:

  • Objectivist Venture Fund (OVF): Underwrites organisations and individuals with strong business plans for ventures promoting Ayn Rand's ideas, including Ayn Rand centres, book clubs, schools, meet-up groups, seminars, centres of learning, activist organisation projects, and university programmes
  • Scholarship Programme: Funds talented scholars who seek to promote Objectivism as a significant part of their career; supports formal education for Objectivists of any age
  • Productiveness Programme: Provides financial support to accomplished Objectivist intellectuals for high-leverage intellectual work, including book marketing, editorial support, course development, assistants, or project delegation

Recent Grant Pattern

Since applications are not currently being accepted, understanding recent grant patterns is particularly important:

  • Geographic distribution: Based on recent 990-PF grant records, international reach including North America, Europe, and other regions globally
  • Typical grantee types: Ayn Rand centres, educational institutions, activist organisations promoting Objectivism, individual scholars and intellectuals
  • Representative recent grants: Students For Liberty received $2.3 million for an Objectivism fellowship programme; various international Ayn Rand centres; university-based programmes promoting Objectivism

What They Don't Fund

Applicants must demonstrate substantial understanding of Objectivism and the ability and intention to promote it. Projects unrelated to advancing Ayn Rand's philosophy and Objectivism would not be funded.

  • Submission of documents in Google Docs and/or Google Sheets, in Times New Roman, 12-point font
