Key takeaways

  • If your work is environmental, tackles poverty or deprivation, or focuses on youth, wellbeing, education or safety, it fits this funder's themes, but most of its money is channelled through community funds it manages for partner organisations, so check each fund's own rules first.
  • Match your request to the fund: the Port of Milford Haven Community Fund offers up to £5,000, South Hook LNG Community Fund Tier 1 up to £500 and Tier 2 up to £5,000, and the Bluestone Foundation Community Fund £500 to £2,500.
  • Choose a fund whose deadline you can meet, as South Hook closes on Monday 2 November at 12 noon, the Port on Monday 16 November at 12 noon and Bluestone on Monday 25 January at 12 noon, with completed applications due by then and a decision about four weeks after the deadline.
  • Bluestone prioritises evidence of need, fit with its aims, added value, sustainability and organisations prepared to help themselves, while the Port prioritises safety, collaboration, excellence and sustainability, so show how your project meets these; do not seek Bluestone funding for running costs, staffing not tied to a project, property rental, utilities or general office equipment, and private companies should not apply to South Hook.
  • Contact development@pavs.org.uk with queries or for help with an application.
