Key takeaways

  • Most of the Trust's named grants are modest: about 8 in 10 of the 12 grants to organisations fall between £5,000 and £25,000, with a median of £5,000, though the largest was about £100,000, so a modest request fits its pattern.
  • Its Community Grants and Match Funding are open only to employees of the Ardonagh Group companies, and the Trust does not accept unsolicited requests, so a small charity outside the group should not apply directly.
  • The realistic route is to find an Ardonagh employee who cares about your work and ask them to put your project forward, with the Trust's four quarterly application opportunities each year as the timing to aim for.
  • The Bright Future Prize is for young people aged 15 to 21, not for organisations, so it is not a route for your charity.

Overview

Ardonagh Community Trust is a charity registered with the Charity Commission for England and Wales (charity number 1175060).

Ardonagh Community Trust exists to provide financial support and human resource to help build better, brighter and stronger futures for all. It was set up as a charity open to all Ardonagh people worldwide, after the leadership team decided to pause the creation of the business to respond to a tragedy and give back. It channels the local efforts of Ardonagh employees through six programmes: Community Grants, Match funding, Volunteering, Charity Partnerships, the Bright Future Prize, and Sustainability. It reports more than £1.4m in community grants awarded and over 325 projects supported around the world, and the Bright Future Prize categories share a £40,000 prize fund.

What they fund

Priority Areas

Ardonagh Community Trust channels the charitable work of Ardonagh employees into community-focused initiatives. Through Community Grants, colleagues worldwide nominate a charity close to their hearts for support with a project or initiative; the programme spans the diverse causes its employees care about. The Trust also develops charity partnerships, matches employees’ fundraising, supports volunteering and sustainability, and runs the Bright Future Prize. The Prize invests in young people committed to positive change and community leadership. Except for the Bright Future Prize, its funding avenues are available only to employees of Ardonagh Group companies. Its approach is to amplify local efforts and support causes connected to its people, helping communities become better, brighter and stronger.
